charoite

I’ve recently discovered charoite. It is a stone of spiritual transformation and is just the most beautiful stone. It is opaque with a wild swirling pattern that shifts and shines as you move the stone towards the light; it’s a bit like tigers eye only purple!

clasps, spirals, hoops and earwires

I’ve been annealing, soldering, twisting, twirling, bending, spiralling, hammering and filing wire into clasps and spirals and hoops and earwires – I’m getting my Etsy store ready for Christmas!

it hasn’t snowed in Sydney since 1836.....

so I was shocked when my children came running inside on Sunday and excitedly showed me their snowman!! Technically they made him with “soft hail” but we think it was snow – and we’re very happy to now have a tiny little snowman living in our freezer :)

new designs

I really thought my Etsy store was somewhat invisible but it appears that a lot of people know that SpiralStone exists; I want to thank everyone who visited my store during my sale....it was a huge success! I've just finished the last custom order I received during my sale so now I'm working on lots of new and exciting designs that I'll be listing in my store soon.

I'm having a sale!

Friday the 20th of June seems to be an appropriate day to start a sale for many reasons. I’ve been working hard making a range of metal jewellery, along with lots of new beaded jewellery designs which include beautiful semiprecious stones and some gorgeous new glass beads that I’ve recently discovered, all of which I’m about to add to my store. I thought the Winter Solstice would be the perfect day to start a sale as my store is about to start a new cycle.
I have been selling my jewellery on Etsy for a year now and I’m overwhelmed at the positive response I’ve had in the way of sales and all the wonderful feedback and comments left by my customers, so a sale seems to be the perfect way to celebrate!

My sale starts on Friday the 20th June and ends on Friday 27th of June. I’m taking 25% of everything in my store, and I’m giving away a free pair of tiny hoops with every purchase during this week :)

tiny hoop photos

I've made these tiny hoops with 20 gauge (0.8mm) sterling silver wire and I've added a little hilltribe silver disc to them (which easily slides off), they are 1/2 inch (13mm) diameter.

my blog - the start of something new

Koru is the Maori name given to the new unfurling fern frond. It represents the unfolding of new life. It is a symbol of new beginnings, growth, strength and peace.
As a little girl I loved to watch these ferns unfurling in the cold damp corners of our garden.
